Olympic Club 2015

Olympic Club look to 2015 as a year full of potential. Just 2 years ago the club was undergoing a rebuild after the retirement of several long standing senior players who took them to a 2nd place finish in the nation.

Last year during the inaugural PRP season OClub will feel they should have won more games having lost several games by one score and will be disappointed with a record that shows a 3-9 finish. All of last years players are back, and with some key new additions including recently graduated Cal prop Tanner Mohr, the team will look to build on last year’s results to challenge at the top of the table in 2015.

The coaching staff, including long-time OCLub Head Coach Ray Lehner, remains the same so with the consistency of personnel on all fronts OClub should no longer be a building team. The back line hasOlympic Club Week dangerous players in every jersey, with the outstanding and versatile Dustin Muhn filling in at 9, wing and full-back when the teams needs it, and the dynamic center pairing of Michael Haley and former 7’s & 15’s Eagle Colin Hawley. Up front OClub have bolstered their lineup again in key positions, with former Eagle James Lik towering in the second row and PRP All-Conference flanker Kelly Harris. On the front lines PRP All-Conference prop Darrell Honaker combines with a host of talent in Mohr, former Eagle Will Johnson, and newly named captain Andrew Cook (St Mary’s) at Hooker. A formidable group of players by any standards.

All of that means OClub should have a dynamic forward pack capable of doing damage, and importantly establishing a stable platform to set the table for the dangerous backs to be unleashed this season with some expansive rugby.

Olympic Club tune up with a scrimmage against Sacramento Capitals followed by the now annual fixture against St Mary’s College on the 26th of January, before walking in to the lions den against cross town rivals and PRP Champions SFGG to open their 2015 season.
